VARDHAMAN

The Vardhaman Group comprises 6 companies and 19 production units.
The Group was set up in 1965 at Chord Road, Ludhiana.
It has also won the “Outstanding Export Achievement Award” for the year 96-97 from the President of India and the State Exports award for five successive years.
Shri S.P. Oswal got Sri Padma Bhushan award in January, 2010.
The group portfolio includes manufacturing of Yarns, Fabrics, Sewing threads Fibre and Alloy Steel.

HISTORY

The industrial city of Ludhiana, located in the fertile Malwa region of Central Punjabis otherwise known as the "Manchester of India". Within the precincts of this city islocated the Corporate headquarters of the Vardhman Group, a household name inNorthern India. The Vardhman Group, born in 1965, under the entrepreneurship of Late Lala Rattan Chand Oswal has today blossomed into one of the largest TextileBusiness houses in India. At its inception, Vardhman had an installed capacity of 14,000 spindles, today; itscapacity has increased multifold to over 8 lacs spindles. In 1982 the Group enteredthe sewing thread market in the country which was a forward integration of thebusiness. Today Vardhman Threads is the second largest producer of sewing threadin India. In 1990, it undertook yet another diversification - this time into the weavingbusiness. The grey fabric weaving unit at Baddi (HP), commissioned in 1990 with acapacity of 20,000 meters per day, has already made its mark as a quality producer of Grey poplin, sheeting, shirting in the domestic as well as foreign market. This wasfollowed by entry into fabric processing by setting up Auro Textiles at Baddi andVardhman Fabric at Budhni, Madhya Pradesh. Today the group has 900 shuttlelesslooms and has processing capacity of 90mn meters fabrics/annum.In the year 1999 the Group has added yet another feather to its cap with the settingup of Vardhman Acrylics Ltd., Bharuch (Gujarat) which is a joint venture in AcrylicFibre production undertaken with Marubeni and Exlan of Japan. The company alsohas a strong presence in the markets of Japan, Hong Kong, Korea, UK and EU inaddition to the domestic market. Adherence to systems and a true dedication toquality has resulted in obtaining the coveted ISO 9002/ ISO 14002 quality awardwhich is the first in Textile industry in India and yet another laurel to its credit.

Fabric : India’s larget manufacturer – exporter of suiting fabrics and has expanded its production capacity to over 20 million meters per year.
Company manufactures over 20000 design shade combinations each year in high wool, polyester wool and woolen, Polyester Viscose and Polyster Cotton Fabric.
Fabrics : Silk, Angora, Mohair or Cashmere, Fine Polyester, Wool suiting fabrics in a no. of blends like;

ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 certification largest vertically integrated fabric production facilities in India.
Large volume is exported 58 countries to some of the biggest international brands across the globe involved in the business of sults.
Fabric expanded its production capacity to over 20 million meters per year.
1800 Vimal show rooms across the country.
In India Vimal show rooms are located in : Ahmedabad, Chennai, Coimbatore, Kochi, Ludhiana, Lucknow, Madurai, Mumbai, Nagpur, Surat and Bangalore.
